Well, we survived our first official Cub Scout Pinewood Derby as parents! Josh designed his car, the "Bionicle Blaster," and he and Chris built it together. Wow--I had no idea how crazy and fun the pinewood derby is. I don't know who was into the competition more--the boys or their dads. It was really fun to watch the dads huddle around comparing techniques and tips to make the cars go faster. Kudos to all those who were helping out--I'm glad I got to enjoy the night as a spectator and cheerleader! Josh's car did pretty well, and he was given an award for the most creative car. Fun night--the first of many to come, I'm sure!

Looks like I have some boy scouting in my future, too. Josh is such a creative kid...way to go!
