A recent occurrence in our home:
I was reading in my room, trying to enjoy some quiet time while Annie napped, when Seth entered and very matter-of-factly stated:
"Mom, I learned a lesson. If you put an egg [hardboiled] in the microwave for 20 seconds, it explodes."

how did he learn this? i didn't know that if you put a hardboiled egg in the microwave it explodes. it's amazing what kids know...
Nothing like learning from personal experience--he was trying to warm up a cold hardboiled egg. Needless to say he had a mess to clean up. He said that 10 seconds is good--but 20 is too many.
